The role:
As our Community Growth Specialist, you’ll be responsible for growing our community with the right people—executive Business Punks who are economically qualified, hungry, and are seeking a community of compassion rather than just transaction. This is about smart, targeted, and creative strategies to identify, engage, and onboard individuals who will thrive in our community.
Key responsibilities
Identify and Recruit Great Members in NYC - Develop creative, non-salesy outreach strategies to connect with potential members. You’ll be attending lots of events, happy hours, and hanging out with existing Punks & Pinstripes members to find new Punks.
Referrals Without Asking - Create experiences and moments that encourage members to organically refer others—through events, shareable content, and “you had to be there” experiences.
Partner with other events and communities - Co-design and promote exclusive, quirky, high-value events that attract top-tier candidates.
Craft Compelling Content and Messaging - Develop stories, messaging, and content that reinforce who we are and why we’re here.
What you’ve done in the past
You’ve sold high ticket experiences. - You’ve sold high value experiences (executive retreats, community memberships, executive recruitment, consulting engagements, etc…) and have mastered some strategies that work.
You’ve built smart target lists. You’ve developed a list of ‘suspects’ which identifies people who probably need what you’re offering and are qualified to buy it.
You’ve created content that grabs attention. You’ve created content that stands out among the millions of things that executives see all the time.
You’ve filtered out unqualified leads. You’ve developed smart techniques to filter out the people who wouldn’t be a good fit.
You’ve led a double life. People who did standup comedy, wrote a book under a pseudonym, or toured in an indie band while working as a banker/lawyer/other tend to be exactly right. (Weird, but true).
If you haven’t done these things don’t freak out. Our best hires have been people who are hungry, creative, and scrappy. We value hustle over pedigree. Just be very clear about how you'd start.
Why this role matters
You will be the architect of the next chapter of Punks & Pinstripes. The community thrives on the quality of its members, and your role is to ensure that every person who joins feels like they’ve found their people. You’ll also help us tell our story in ways that deepen connections with current members and inspire the next generation of executive rebels to join.
Compensation
This is a contract role with commission, and opportunity to participate in profit share and join the founding team, if successful. The starting rate is $50-$80/hour depending on experience.
